Technological innovations in footwear leather industry: current status and solutions

Abstract

The current technology of footwear leather industry is of low level, technological innovation investments are insufficient and policies for its innovations are somehow far from perfect. This negatively affects the competitive abilities of Vietnam’s Footwear Leather Industry. The paper aims to answer three questions: (i) What are supportive industry and technological innovations in supportive industry products? (ii) What is the reality of technology and technological innovations in this industry? (iii) What should the Government do to enhance technological innovations in the concerned industry under Vietnam’s current conditions.
