Giải pháp phát triển dịch vụ công tác xã hội trợ giúp người nghiện ma túy

Abstract

Drugs and drug addiction cause serious social and economic consequences challenging all countries, including Vietnam. This article examines the current status of social work services in supporting drug-abusers such as counseling, health care, legal assistance, employment, referral, etc. Research results show that these services are still limited in terms of service coverage and quality, and drug-abusers' low satisfaction with the given services. The reasons identified include Complicated administrative procedures, poor quality of service and staff, high service costs, non-modern service facilities, etc. Thereupon, the author proposes some recommendations for the State, labor-invalids and social affairs sector, and local authorities as well as the community to develop the quantity and quality of social work services for drug-abusers in Vietnam.
