Abstract

Mau worshipping is of spiritual values addressing faith, reverence, respect for Mau, wishing for good things in physical and spiritual lives. This worship plays an important role in Tây Ninh people’s spiritual life. Linh Son Thien Thach pagoda and Thien Hau temple are typical of the worshipping places. The Mau worshipping is indicated not only in rituals, worshipped subjects and objects but also deeply in ancient Chinese-Vietnamese script document. In this article, we focus on investigating its characteristics based on the script documment at these two places as such revealing Mau spirit in Tay Ninh to some extent.
