Investigating the reality of investments in Vietnam’s preventive health

Abstract
This study aims to describe the reality of investments in Vietnam’s preventive health in order to point out shortcomings and the causes.Then it proposes solutions to improve the current situation. The method used is a system of efficiency-analysis norms and investment results in preventive health. The results showed that the preventive-health investment did not properly meet the current demands. Local health models were inappropriate, and health officers were short of required quality and organization. Recommendations are (1) Priorities in investment distribution for preventive health; (2) More investments in preventive health; (3) Developing policies in human resource investments.
