The current situation of managing physical development education for 5-6-year-old children in preschools in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract
This study examines the current situation of managing physical development education activities for 5–6-year-old children in ten public preschools in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City, and proposes solutions to improve management effectiveness. The research employed a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative data were collected from 40 administrators and 155 teachers using a four-point Likert scale, while qualitative data were obtained through interviews with 10 administrators, 10 teachers, and 10 parents, combined with observations. Findings indicate that planning and organization of physical development education were performed fairly well, while professional training, supervision, and resource mobilization remained limited. Cooperation among families, schools, and communities was only moderately effective. The study recommends strengthening managerial competence, standardizing assessment tools, establishing specialized inspection teams, and applying information technology to enhance the management quality in physical development education at preschools.
