Application of artificial intelligence in assessing natural science inquiry competence for grade 8 students through the topic “Some common compounds”
Main Article Content
Abstract
On educational digital transformation, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into assessment has emerged as a promising approach to enhance pedagogical effectiveness. This study focuses on applying AI tools to assess Grade 8 students’ natural science inquiry competence through the topic “Some Common Compounds” in Natural Science. Utilizing pedagogical experiments, AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Quizizz AI, and AutoExam AI were employed to assist in designing learning tasks, developing assessment instruments, conducting tests, and analyzing feedback. The obtained results demonstrate that AI application effectively optimizes assessment processes, ensures objectivity, and facilitates personalized learning, thereby fostering students’ natural science inquiry competence. This research confirms the significant supportive role of AI in competency-based education, providing practical evidence for integrating modern technology into Natural Science instruction in lower secondary schools.
