Abstract

The study was carried out to find solutions to the problem of surface water quality management in Tan Phu Dong district. It is an island district, often short of fresh water in dry season. The methods used included qualitative-quantitative analysis, interviews of farmers and leaders. The results have shown: the district's surface water had initial symptoms of organic pollutants. Thus, the solution proposed is to apply the community-based management model in Tan Thoi and wastewater treatment model by the wetland-constructing system in Phu Tan. It aims to protect and use the water source appropriately.
