Abstract

In the minds of Dong Thap people, the folk festival as a form of cultural activities is indispensable in life. It embeds itself the proud history of our forefathers. The folk festival in Dong Thap has always shown clearly its communal features. Through the festivals, the older generation can possibly educate the younger generation morals, lifestyles, customs and traditions. The people's belief is always a key factor to festival preservations. Currently, the preservation and promotion of folk festivals in Dong Thap province make significant contributions to the task of preserving Vietnam’s cultural identity, raised by the Party and the Government.
