Abstract

This review provides an insightful and thorough examination of Tylenchulus semipenetrans, a parasitic nematode significantly impacting citrus crops. Moreover, T. semipenetrans is recognized to cause severe health issues in plants, leading to reduced productivity and substantial economic losses in the agricultural sector. This study delves into the biology, life cycle, morphological characteristics, and behavior of this nematode species, offering a detailed view of its parasitic mechanisms and effects on host plants. Additionally, the study addresses the challenges in controlling T. semipenetrans and the current management methods, including cultivation practices, physical, use of resistant plant varieties, biological, and chemical measures. The integration of biological knowledge with modern agricultural technology is crucial for managing this parasitic nematode species. Finally, the overview highlights the importance of ongoing research to gain a deeper understanding of T. semipenetrans, thereby developing sustainable and effective control solutions to mitigate its negative impact on agriculture and ensure global food security.
