Green transition behaviors of students at Dong Thap University
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper investigates green transition behaviors among students at Dong Thap University, within the global context of sustainable development and Vietnam’s implementation of its National Green Growth Strategy. Surveying 1,389 students from diverse academic disciplines, combined with in-depth interviews among 20 participants, the study examines key behaviors. These include participation in environmental activities, use of eco-friendly transportation, resource conservation, reduction of plastic waste, and the integration of digital technologies in sustainable lifestyles. Findings indicate that the majority of students demonstrate positive awareness and have begun to develop consistent green behaviors. However, these behaviors vary due to factors such as personal awareness, educational environment, infrastructure conditions, and consumption habits. The study contributes to the theoretical understanding of environmental behavior in the context of higher education, particularly in universities, and provides practical implications for educational institutions and policymakers to design effective strategies and action plans. These efforts aim to promote green living among students and support the realization of national green growth goals.
