Abstract

An online survey among 153 participants of faculty and researchers was conducted in various specialized fields, different qualifications and experiences to explore their levels of understanding and perspectives on scholarly metrics at Can Tho University. The obtained results indicated that most researchers understand how to use academic indicators in research. In addition, the majority of the participants agreed that Can Tho University should monitor staff's scholarly metrics. However, there is an inequality in the understanding level of academic indicators among the participants. Thereupon, this study has made recommendations for improvement.
