Vài nét đặc sắc về nghệ thuật trần thuật trong một số tác phẩm tiêu biểu của Sơn Nam

Abstract

This article presents several distinctive features of narrative art in Son Nam’s Bien Co Mien Tay, Hinh Bong Cu, and Huong Rung Ca Mau. It points out the coexistence of both the writer’s voice and that of the researcher in these works. The article combines poetics (the study of artistic elements) via analysis and synthesis, comparison, and interdisciplinary approaches, together with cultural, historical, and social factors, to explore the land and people of Southern Vietnam. Thereby, it further clarifies the realistic artistic picture of the people and land of the South during the period of territorial expansion. The article also indicates that the unique contradiction and combination between the researcher’s tone (objective and restrained) and the writer’s tone (empathetic and simple) create a distinctive aesthetic depth in the narrative content.
