The role of translated literature in Gia Dinh bao, Nong co min dam and Luc tinh tan van in the development of Vietnamese literature
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article will focus on surveying the translation situation of Western and Chinese literary works in three newspapers, to clearly see the pioneering role of the press, as it is always the first place to publish literary works translated. Also from this field, we also see a unique point in Southern literature at that time: although soon assimilating new things from Western literature, it still retained many characteristics deeply impacted by Chinese literature. In addition, the team of translators comes from diverse backgrounds from many different professions, but is very pioneering in the process of translating literary works, helping them practice their skills and creativity, and diversity in the writing profession, contributing to bringing many works with new contents and forms to modern literature.
