Abstract

A paragraph is a part of a complete text. Paragraphs have many different types of structures. In the Vietnamese language education program, training 3^rd graders in paragraph writing skills primarily forms and develops writing skills, creating a foundation for students to create texts in many different styles when studying in the upper grades. Paragraphs completed by 3^rd graders after each Vietnamese language lesson must ensure the requirements of clear and coherent expression according to a certain argument (i.e., a structure). Applying the argument theory to guide 3^rd graders in writing paragraphs is a new approach to promoting the development of general qualities and language abilities of students. This article presents some content about paragraphs, arguments and argument types in paragraphs, and measures to practice paragraph writing skills for 3rd graders in the argument style.
