Abstract

The aim of teaching and learning a foreign language is nowadays to get students communicating in class and to give them the habit of expressing themselves in their daily life. However, achieving this goal is not easy because many factors influence their target language practice. Students of French as a Foreign Language (FFL) at Cantho University find it difficult to express themselves and communicate efficiently. This article looks at the teaching of speaking and the factors that influence oral communication in the FFL classroom. Based on the results, possible solutions are proposed for establishing real communication in the FFL classroom and improving the process of language teaching and learning of speaking in the future.
