Abstract

In the effective mass approximation for the electrons (holes), when there is no external field, with interaction and perturbations neglected, the state of prolate and oblate spheroidal quantum dots are considered in the prolate spheroidal coordinate system. The eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the problem, obtained after being conducted on ordinary PC configurations, have been applied to investigate the absorption spectrum of spheroidal quantum dots GaAs. The results show that these calculations and numerical algorithms can obtain the energy spectra of the spheroidal quantum dots and the absorption spectra of the GaAs spheroidal quantum dots. Thus, the results make ways for the above problem in more complex conditions.
