Factors influencing employment-seeking choice decisions at An Giang University

Abstract

This study is to identify factors influencing employment-seeking choice decisions at An Giang University. Results are based on data collected from 350 lecturers and office-workers working at An Giang University as a non-probability sampling. The Cronbach’s Alpha testing, exploratory factor analysis and linear regression were used. The results revealed that 6 target factors in order of importance are: (1) Organizational prestige, (2) harmony between individuals and organization, (3) Income and welfare, (4) Training and promotional opportunities, (5) Level and method of payment, (6) The impact of parents and friends. These factors accounted for 57,3% of employment-seeking choice decisions at An Giang University.
