Abstract

3/2/1 is an approach to help learners of English improve their fluency in learning speaking skill. In this approach, a learner repeatedly talks about the same topic to three different listeners each time of speaking. The time for each talk is reduced from 3 minutes to 2 minutes, and then 1 minute, respectively. This article aims to address the research findings via the approach on first-year English majors at Foreign Language Education Faculty in Dong Thap University. The results show that it not only improves the learners’ fluency up to nearly 40% but also help them feel more confident when speaking in front of the class.
