Management measures for Vietnamese language teaching activities in primary schools in My Tu district, Soc Trang province, based on the capacity development approach

Abstract
Vietnamese language teaching plays a crucial role in fostering language qualities and competencies for primary school students, aligning with the requirements of educational reform under the 2018 General Education Program. This paper analyzes the current management of these activities in primary schools in My Tu district, Soc Trang province. Key limitations include: inconsistent awareness among managers and teachers; lack of comprehensive and consistent management plans; limited innovation in teaching methods, testing, and evaluation; insufficient focus on teacher training; inadequate facilities and supporting materials; and ineffective coordination between schools and families.
The paper proposes management measures such as raising awareness, improving the development of teaching plans, innovating teaching methods and organizational practices, strengthening the direction and supervision of teaching activities, and promoting objective inspection and evaluation. These measures aim to improve Vietnamese language teaching in primary schools, contributing to the effective implementation of the 2018 General Education Program and fostering the comprehensive development of students' language competencies.
