The characteristics of Vo Quang's fairy tales
Main Article Content
Abstract
In addition to his poems and stories about homeland and revolution, Vo Quang's fairy tales have been a remarkable achievement, substantially contributing to children's literature in our country for more than half a century. With the love and sense of responsibility for forming children’s morality, personality and soul, his fairy tales are exclusively concerned with gentle and profound moral lessons. Through explaining the natural features of animals together with the metaphors of human character and life in the new age, the animal world that has long been familiar, close to children, now turns out to be new and full of vitality. In spite of folk materials used, these tales have broken their rigid paradigms, bringing to this genre a kind of novelty with both humor and intimacy, mild ideology, simple plot, focusing on details and events in accordance with children’s psychology.
