Abstract

Using questionnaires and in-depth interviews, this study analyzes cultural tourism development impact on Sa Dec flower villagers, Dong Thap province. According to the findings of 120 respondents and interviewees, tourism development holds both beneficial and bad effects on local culture. Tourism has helped local people be more proud of their traditional craft villages by preserving festivals and cuisine, diversity of livelihoods, promoting cultural interactions in the local community, and assisting the community in the construction of a cultural tourism village. Their residences are interested in decorating, fixing, and making them more beautiful and spacious, in addition to maintaining cultural values, building shared infrastructure, and increasing the quality of life. On the contrary, tourism has disrupted or changed the traditional structure of local families, conflicts and tensions arise between locals and tourists; people rarely have the opportunity to participate in the planning and management of tourism activities, at peak times, traffic jams, and traffic jams. The cost of products and services rises beyond what locals expect.
