Assessing wastewater quality performance of pangasius (Pangasianodon Hypophthalmus) pond by the constructed horizontal subsurface flow wetland model incorporating vetiver grass (Vetiveria Zizanioides L)

Abstract
Studying the experimental design of tidal submerged wetland model of Vetiver grass for treatment of catfish pond effluent, the results show that water quality indicators after twelve weeks of experiment all got Standard Column A in accordance with QCVN 40: 2011/BTNMT on industrial wastewater, which permits discharging into surface water or reuse. The treatment efficiency for the indicators of BOD5, COD, TN, TP, TSS and Coliforms is respectively 93.2%, 92.3%, 78.9%, 86.8%, 93.4% and 98.3%. In addition, time and location as well as the area planted to grass all affect the efficiency of the system, thus making the scientific basis for designing an efficient and economically viable wetland.
