Current management of life skills education for students in primary schools in Vi Thanh city, Hau Giang province

Abstract
Life skills help students solve situations in life effectively, actively apply the knowledge they have learned to real life. However, the practice is of little interest to primary schools. This study aims to evaluate the current management of life skills education for primary schoolers in Vi Thanh city, Hau Giang province. Accordingly, we conducted a survey of 134 administrators, teachers and parents from 6 primary schools in Vi Thanh city, Hau Giang province, through questionnaire and in-depth interview. The questionnaire results were quantitatively processed on a 4-level scale while the interviews were encrypted. The results show that the current management on the concerned issues in this area still has many inadequacies in the development of plans, organization, direction, checking and coordinate educational forces in management. The results provide guideline for principals of elementary schools in this area have a basis for proposing appropriate management measures to meet the quality goals of student education.
