Quốc tế hóa giáo dục là yêu cầu tất yếu trong bối cảnh toàn cầu hóa, kết quả của quốc tế hóa giáo dục đem lại rất nhiều lợi ích cho sự phát triển của cá nhân và nâng cao năng lực cạnh tranh quốc gia. Chính vì thế các nước phát triển trên thế giới ngay từ sớm đã xây dựng chiến lược, đầu tư thúc đẩy quốc tế hóa giáo dục. Bằng cách sử dụng nguồn dữ liệu thứ cấp bài viết phân tích các lợi ích của quá trình quốc tế hóa giáo dục, kinh nghiệm của một số quốc gia trên thế giới đã thực hiện thành công quốc tế hóa trong giáo dục đại học. Dựa vào kinh nghiệm nêu trên tác giả đề xuất các biện pháp quản trị để thúc đẩy quá trình quốc tế hóa ở Việt nam, bao gồm hoàn thiện khung pháp lý đối với hoạt động hợp tác-đầu tư quốc tế trong giáo dục, xây dựng chiến lược quốc tế hóa theo giai đoạn, hoàn thiện hệ thống đảm bảo chất lượng cho các chương trình có yếu tố quốc tế, phát triển các dịch vụ phục vụ hỗ trợ quốc tế hóa và xây dựng hệ sinh thái quốc tế trong cơ sở giáo dục.
