Abstract

Native bentonite minerals were treated with 4M H2SO4 and were used as adsorbents of Cu2+ion in water. The effects of adsorbent amount, initial concentration and temperature on the Cu2+ion adsorption were investiagted. The adsorption capacities of bentonite and acid-activated bentonite were respectively 34.36 mg/g and 39.21 mg/g. The negative value of ΔG and the positive of ΔS showed that the Cu2+ion adsorption onto bentonite and acid-activated bentonite was thermally evaporated and self-made.
