Dream phenomenon in Nguyen Dinh Tu’s novel seen from the psychoanalytic perspective
Main Article Content
Abstract
Dreams are one of the important research contents of Psychoanalysis. Deciphering dreams is to better understand humans’ in-depth soul as well as the hidden memories in their spiritual life. Nguyen Dinh Tu used dreams as a method to reveal inner worlds, satisfy desires and relieve characters’ obsessions. Many dreams reflect the characters’ mental state of confusion, anxiety, restlessness and terror obsessed by sorrows, losses or crimes. Dreams in Nguyen Dinh Tu’s novels are also the way for characters to look back at themselves, awaken and refuse evils.
