The 5E-based teaching of frictional force content to enhance 10th-Graders’ Physics capacity

Abstract

To effectively implement the goals of the 2018 General Education Program, teachers need to apply appropriate teaching methods aligned with developing students' capacity. The 5E structure has been widely implemented by educators worldwide due to its effectiveness and benefits in enhancing learners' capacity. This paper presents the research findings on the application of the 5E structure in teaching “Sliding friction” topic in Physics of Grade 10, aiming to foster students' Physics capacity. Via this approach, students have numerous opportunities to develop their creative thinking skills during the process of exploration, discovery, knowledge construction, as well as to apply their acquired knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems.
