Abstract

School culture is a system of shared values, beliefs, norms and habits that shape the way members (including teachers, students, administrators, and parents) interact and work in the school. Building this culture is not just a formal task but a vital management strategy, ensuring the sustainability and long-term development of educational institutions. This study aims to assess the current status of school culture management in secondary schools in District 11, Ho Chi Minh City. The research method used a 4-level Likert survey and interviews with 132 administrators and teachers at 11 secondary schools. The survey content focuses on core management aspects: planning, implementation, direction and evaluation, and influencing factors. The obtained results show that although school culture management has been implemented, significant limitations are present, including: inadequate awareness of the role and scope of management, mostly formal implementation, lack of system monitoring tools, and detailed guidance documents. From these findings, the article emphasizes the need for appropriate management measures to improve the effectiveness of building and developing school culture in District 11 secondary schools, contributing positively to improving the quality of comprehensive education.
