Current experiential and career-oriented activities for students in ethnic minority lower secondary boarding schools in An Giang Province
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examined the current management of experiential and career orientation activities for students at lower secondary ethnic boarding schools in An Giang province. The study was conducted in five schools, including An Bien, Chau Thanh, Giong Rieng, Go Quao, and Ha Tien Lower Secondary Ethnic Boarding Schools, with the participation of 108 administrators and teachers (18 administrators and 90 teachers). A questionnaire survey of a four-point Likert scale was combined with in-depth interviews to collect and analyze data. The findings indicate that the management of experiential and career orientation activities at these schools has received attention and has achieved certain results. However, several limitations remain, including the awareness of staff, the content and forms of activity organization, planning, teachers’ capacity to organize activities, monitoring and evaluation practices, coordination among educational stakeholders, and the conditions of facilities supporting the activities. These findings provide practical evidence reflecting the implementation and management of experiential and career orientation activities at lower secondary ethnic boarding schools in An Giang province.
