Abstract

This study investigates the current status of managing information technology (IT) integration in teaching Vietnamese at primary schools in An Lac Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The study focuses on key management functions. These include school administrators’ and teachers’ awareness of the importance of managing IT integration; planning for IT integration through the identification of objectives, content, resources, and evaluation criteria; organizing implementation by assigning responsibilities, preparing facilities and digital learning resources, and supporting teachers; directing implementation through providing guidance, coordinating resources, supervising implementation, and encouraging teachers to integrate IT into teaching; and monitoring and evaluating the implementation process, the quality of digital learning resources, and the effectiveness of IT integration in improving students’ learning outcomes. The study employed a questionnaire survey combined with in-depth interviews among 54 school administrators and teachers from three primary schools in the study area. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including means and standard deviations. The findings indicate that IT integration management in teaching Vietnamese has been implemented across all major management functions. However, the overall level of implementation remains at a relatively satisfactory level, with noticeable limitations in planning, resource organization, and monitoring and evaluation. These findings provide practical evidence for proposing measures to enhance the effectiveness of managing IT integration in teaching Vietnamese at primary schools in the context of ongoing educational digital transformation.
