Abstract

This paper describes morphological features of Inegocia japonica based on specimens collected from Cua Lo, Nghe An province. The inegocia japonica has the following morphological features: the first dorsal-fin has I – VIII rays; usually the second has 12; 50-60 scales in the lateral lines, each scale with 2 back openings and spine in the middle; the gill raker is usually 1+5. It has a long snout (29.20 - 34.21% of its head length); a long and branched iris lappet; a pre-ocular single pointer; suborbital ridge with 2 hard pointers; sensory tubes found only below the suborbital ridge.
