Current status of managing moral education activities for students at primary schools in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province

Abstract

 


Moral education plays a very important role in educating school children. It not only fosters learner awareness of social ethical standards, but also contributes to shaping and promoting the necessary qualities of human personality. Moral at the elementary level is a compulsory subject. It anchors on educating personal values, family, homeland, and community, in order to form students’ necessary habits and routines in studying, living, and the sense of self-adjustment upon ethical standards and legal regulations (Ministry of Education and Training, 2018). Therefore, this study is to learn, analyze and evaluate the current status of moral education and management of moral education activities for students at primary schools in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province. A 4-level scale survey was conducted at 06 primary schools in Da Lat city with 28 administrators and 70 teachers. Research results have shown that the relevant management in this area still has many shortcomings that need to be improved.
