Abstract

Life skills education plays a crucial role in shaping the core qualities and competencies of lower secondary school students under the 2018 General Education Curriculum. This study aims to examine the current status of managing life skills education activities at four lower secondary schools in Sa Dec Ward, Dong Thap Province to identify the level of implementation and the challenges encountered in the management process. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews among 30 school administrators and 80 teachers. The investigation focused on four key management functions: planning, organizing implementation, directing, and monitoring–evaluation. The findings indicate that the management of life skills education activities in these schools has reached only a fairly adequate level and remains insufficiently coordinated across different management stages. The results provide an important empirical basis for proposing measures to improve the effectiveness of life skills education management in lower secondary schools in Sa Dec Ward in the coming period.
