Management of Information Technology Application in Educational Activities for Children at Preschools in Hoa Dien Commune, An Giang Province

Abstract

In the context of educational reform and digital transformation, the application of information technology (IT) in early childhood education has become an essential requirement for improving the quality of child care, education, and school management. This study analyzes the current status of IT application management in educational activities for children at preschools in Hoa Dien commune, An Giang province. The research employs a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods; a questionnaire survey using a 5-point Likert scale was conducted with 32 administrators and teachers, combined with in-depth interviews and descriptive statistical analysis.
The findings reveal that administrators and teachers have a positive and consistent awareness of the role of IT in early childhood education. IT applications have been implemented in a relatively diverse manner, particularly in the use of digital learning materials, the organization of visual and interactive activities, and the support of monitoring and assessing children's development. However, the methods and forms of IT application remain uneven, especially in organizing experiential activities and personalizing learning materials for children.
The supporting conditions, including facilities, equipment, IT infrastructure, digital resources, and professional development for teachers, have been improved but are not yet synchronized. The management of IT application—covering planning, implementation, direction, inspection, and resource management—has generally reached a moderate to fairly good level; however, limitations remain in terms of flexibility, systematic organization, and the effectiveness of professional support.
Based on these findings, the study proposes five management measures to enhance the effectiveness of IT application in educational activities for children, thereby contributing to meeting the requirements of educational innovation in the context of digital transformation.
