Abstract

Oral health plays an important role in the comprehensive development of primary school students; according to the World Health Organization (WHO), dental care remains one of the most prevalent diseases among children worldwide. This study investigated the current management of oral health care activities for students in Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The study surveyed 84 participants, including school administrators and teachers from four primary schools. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale, supplemented by in-depth interviews with selected administrators and teachers. SPSS software version 22.0 was used for descriptive statistics such as frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations. The results indicate that oral health care activities have been implemented in the surveyed schools; however, several limitations persist, particularly in planning, organization, resource allocation, and coordination among schools, families, and local health services. Therefore, the study emphasizes the need to strengthen management measures and enhance intersectoral collaboration in order to improve the effectiveness of school-based oral health care activities, thereby contributing to improved student health and the achievement of comprehensive educational goals.
