Abstract

The management of STEM education activities in primary schools plays a very important role in effectively organizing integrated teaching and learning, thereby contributing to the implementation of competency- and quality-oriented educational reform. This study examined the current STEM education management in primary schools in Long Hoa Ward, Tay Ninh Province. A mixed-methods approach was employed, involving 129 participants, including 11 school administrators and 118 teachers from four primary schools. Quantitative data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire, while qualitative data were supplemented through in-depth interviews to further clarify and enrich the findings. The results indicate that STEM education management received increasing attention with achieved initial positive outcomes. However, several significant challenges remain, including limitations in strategic planning, insufficient managerial capacity in organizing and directing STEM teaching activities, as well as shortcomings in monitoring and evaluation practices that have not yet been fully effective. Thereby, management solutions are proposed to enhance the effectiveness and quality of STEM education implementation in primary schools, in alignment with current educational reform demands.
