The current situation of managing professional development activities for preschool teachers in kindergartensin Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province

Abstract

The article focuses on assessing the current situation of managing professional development activities for preschool teachers in Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province. A survey was conducted among 28 educational managers and 270 teachers from 10 kindergartens in the area, using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire and in-depth interview to collect practical data. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software, based on statistical indicators such as mean scores, standard deviations, and correlation coefficients. The results indicate that the management of professional development for preschool teachers still faces many shortcomings. These include awareness to planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating these activities which have not met expectations. Several factors were found to have significant impacts, including the technological competency of educational managers, the quality of facilities and equipment for training, and the teachers’ motivation for continuous learning. Overall, although there have been positive changes in the management of professional development, certain limitations remain and need further improvement.
