Abstract

Qualified teachers in terms of expertise, pedagogical skills and teaching methods will help improve teaching-learning quality, creating a positive and effective learning environment. The article assesses the current situation of developing secondary school teaching staffs in Soc Trang city, Soc Trang province. Data were collected from 16 managers, 39 professional group leaders and 142 teachers in secondary schools in Soc Trang city, Soc Trang province. The research results show that despite progress in developing the secondary school teaching staffs in this area, shortcomings still exist. Based on the results of the assessment of the current situation, the author has proposed measures for improving the relevant teaching staffs in the coming time, meeting the requirements of human resource development in the context of innovation.
