Current life skills education management for 5-6-year-old children in kindergartens in Go Quao district, Kien Giang province

Abstract
Life skills play a fundamental role in the comprehensive development of 5–6-year-older children. In kindergartens, life skills education not only equips children with self-service, communication and cooperation skills, but also helps them develop the ability to manage emotions and solve problems, thereby increasing their confidence and the ability to cope with life situations, preparing for the next levels of education. The study surveyed 105 participants, including 13 managers and 92 kindergarten teachers in Go Guao district, Kien Giang province. It was done with online questionnaire survey, direct discussion and interview. The survey results show that the management of life skills education for 5-6-year-old children in kindergartens in this area is highly appreciated in developing children's capacity. However, some limitations in planning, organization and evaluation, and facilities still do not meet the needs of modern education. The study is an important practical basis to help educational managers in Go Quao district to develop management measures for improvement on the concerned issues.
