Current teacher development on teaching integrated subjects in middle schools Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract
Implementing the guidelines and policies of the Party and State, the Ministry of Education and Training has developed and promulgated the 2018 general education program. In comparison to the old program, the 2018 program includes a new integrated subject of History - Geography and Natural Sciences. Meeting the requirements of integrated teaching is an important task of managers and the education sector. Within the scope of this article, the author evaluates the current status of developing a team of integrated subject teachers by surveying 369 subjects. This included 18 Vice Principals in charge of professional work, 351 teachers directly classes teaching integrated subjects (224 Natural Science teachers, 127 History-Geography teachers) at secondary schools in Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, it clarifies concepts as well as characteristics. of integrated subjects for middle school students, as a basis to propose some solutions to develop a team of teachers teaching integrated subjects to meet the requirements of the current general education program in 2018.
